A Florida couple who met on a dating website and fell in
love have only just realized they were actually preschool sweethearts when they
were three years old.
Justin Pounders, 33, says he was 'instantly drawn' to Amy
Giberson, also 33, when he came across her photo online.
'I can't explain it, but I knew I had to get to know this
girl,' Pounders told People.
The two began texting and talking on the phone, before soon
planning a first date in their home town of St Petersberg.
However they quickly worked out they had both gone to
Sunshine Preschool.
Each went to their parents and asked them to dig up some
photos.
'Justin's mom found a photo of the two of us together and I
just started crying, I was ecstatic,' Giberson said.
'I was the Amy he had liked all those years ago! It was
definitely meant to be.'
Pounders added: 'Someone or something definitely decided we
weren't supposed to reconnect until now.'
'We've been so close to finding each other this whole time
but didn't until the time was right. And that's now.'
Even one of the preschool teachers, Diane, remembers the two
and their courtship.
'They had a blast with each other,' Twar told People.
'It was a quiet, bashful romance. They liked each other from
afar, it was a young love, like a sweet crush, you know? 'They insisted on sitting next to each other in our school
picture.'
Pounders said he intends on proposing, but is waiting for
the perfect time
