Many social activities in Afikpo are clothed in rich culture which makes Afikpo the hub of cultural heritage.
The Iko Okochi festival rotates among the village groups in Afikpo. The feast is first celebrated in Oziza in October, it begins at Afikpo with Nkpoghoro village group and after four days (precisely on orie market day) it rotates to Ugwuegu, Oha Isu, Itim, Ibii and ends up at Onu Ogo Onye-ani at Elu Ogo Amuro.
